In Conversation with Grimanesa Amorós

We talk with Grimanesa about everything from childhood influences in engineering to her Peurvian heritage to the development of an architectural process, and how she uses light to illuminate new perspectives.

Grimanesa Amorós is a New York-based interdisciplinary artist who has often drawn upon important Peruvian cultural legacies as inspiration for her large-scale light-based installations. She has presented around the globe in places such as Mexico City, Tel Aviv, Beijing, and New York’s very own Times Square. Amorós has exhibited in the United States, Europe, Asia, and Latin America. Amorós was a guest speaker at TEDGlobal 2014, a recipient of the “NEA Visual Artist Fellowship,”a participant in the “Art In Embassies Program of the U.S.,” and has received the CultureSummit 2018 Visual Arts Award.
